Breakfast with the Experts

A 90 minute breakfast session is scheduled. Professor Alan Apter, Professor Kees van Heeringen and Professor Merete Nordentoft. – Chair: Dr Lanny Berman, Co-Chair: Dr Ella Arensman – will be available to discuss their work in prevention, research, and/or treatment with researchers and others interested in picking their brains in an informal setting.

IASP Symposium

This Symposium will be dedicated to the Andrej Marusic Award at which the successful candidates will present their proposal. – Chair: Professor Marco Sarchiapone, Co-Chair: Dr Tony Davis.

IASP Exhibit Stand

IASP will have an exhibit present throughout the ESSSB at which we will make available an array of resources and other information about the organization. We invite you to visit our stand.

Andrej Marusic Award

The International Context of Suicidology decided to fund the establishment of three research prizes dedicated to Andrej Marusic, that will be awarded during the Congress. The awards are based on the contribution of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), the International Academy of Suicide Research (IASR) and the organizers of the 13th European Symposium on Suicide and Suicidal Behaviour (ESSSB).
The prizes will be awarded to the best scientific contributions to the Congress in the field of biology of suicide, suicide prevention and treatment of suicidal behaviour, by young researchers. Applicants should be under 40 years old, or have less then 5 years of experience in the field of suicidology, and should firstly submit their scientific contribution through the Congress website. Applicants should also submit by e-mail to the organising Committee (organising@esssb13.org) a letter of application stating their name, title, affiliation and why their work is important; a CV no longer then 4 pages and a 1500 word summary of their scientific contribution.
Deadline for applications is June 14th 2010.
